History
Soul Survivor began in 1993 in the UK. Mike Pilavachi wanted to host a festival where young people could connect with God in worship and have space to deal with issues relevant to them. The first Soul Survivor festival drew 1800 young people to a field in England. Since 1993 Soul Survivor has also branched into several other countries around the world (Malaysia, New Zealand, Netherlands, USA, Canada, South Africa, and Oz!).
While Soul Survivor has grown, the simple desire to see young people connect with Jesus has remained the same. The first official Soul Survivor festival in Melbourne was in March 2000 at Mount Martha. In 2001 we moved to Belgrave Heights Convention Centre, and have now held nine festivals there. We have been thrilled to see the work God has been doing in young people’s lives during these events.
Apart from the festival, Soul Survivor Melbourne runs other events throughout the year.
